Wanted: Black Ankle Boots

I already have a pair but they are too combat-boot-y; I'm not badass enough to pull them off. SO I'm looking for a new pair to see me through the winter months.

1. Topshop Adelise Lace Up Ankle Boots ($160 NZD)
2. Urban Outfitters BDG Brogue Hiker Ankle Boot ($94 NZD)
3. ASOS Adelaide Leather Chelsea Ankle Boots ($88 NZD)
Decisions, decisions. Which to choose? The Topshop ones are probably a little too cool for me but I could do the BDG Urban Outfitters Brogues or the ASOS Chelsea boots fo' sho'.

Wardrobe Staples: The Coat

(insert 'Brace yourselves, Winter is coming' quote + picture for wit and humour on a shoestring)

Shit's getting cold down here in the Southern Hemisphere. And all of a sudden I'm getting that it's-the-start-of-a-new-season-I-should-buy-new-clothes feeling, you know that feel? With that in mind I present to you the first in what will be a series of articles on wardrobe staples; the foundations of dressing well. First up, coats.

Every good wardrobe needs three coats:
. a neutral tone (brown, beige, camel)
. black (or grey)
. and a bright colour (preferably a colour that you have a lot of in your wardrobe already)

And with the power invested in these three coats, I hereby declare that you will never not have a coat to match with your outfit. (Note: a coat is different from a jacket or a blazer. Just call me Miss Pretentious)

Suggestions...

1. If you aren't a student and you have dolla-dolla bills to spend
1. (Black) Malene Birger, Kaliona twill coat ($412 NZD); 2. (Blue) Carven, Double-breasted cotton-twill coat ($982 NZD); 3. Burberry Prorsum, Mid-length cotton-sateen trench coat ($2357 NZD)
If you have the money, invest in the classic - Burberry.

2. If you are a student and you don't have dolla-dolla bills to spend

1. (Black) Asos, Fit and flare biker coat ($150 NZD); 2. (Red) Asos, Textured blazer coat ($150 NZD); 3. Forever 21, Ripstop trench coat ($31 NZD)

Now back to my assignments, that all seem to be due on May the 20th.
My reaction when I think about my assignments:

On a side note: Holy tits I miss moments from The OC like this.

Fresh Kicks

Some time last year, past me was all "I should go to university to further my studies in Art History and English" and thus I applied to one university before one of my asshole teachers told me "lol, you won't pass this year" (she may have used different words, but the message was clear). I took her encouraging words into consideration and decided I wouldn't go to university, at least not in the coming year.

That all changed in January when I got my exam results back. I passed (Didn't do badly at all, as a matter of fact)! That's when I got an email from the University of Auckland, accepting me into the programme I has applied for.

So now here I am, a few weeks into my freshman year, and what's bothering me the most? Not the course work, not any of my lecturers, not the fact that there are 500 other people in each of my classes who are waaaaaay smarter and better than me; but the fact that every day I have a 20 minute hike up-hill to my classes. First. World. Problems.

Thus, I have compiled this list of 'oh-so-fresh' trainers that I want.

1. Jeremy Scott for Adidas (Available online and from Area51 in Auckland for $240NZD) - because who doesn't want poodles wearing sunglasses on their feet? // 2. Adidas Printed High Tops (Available from Asos.com for $140NZD) // 3. Reebok Classic Leather Trainers (Available from Asos.com for $110NZD) // 4. Nike Air Max S2S Mid (Available from Team Platinum stores and Nike retailers for $170NZD)

Dear Shoe-gods, please give me those Jeremy Scott x Adidas sneakers. Please. Amen.

Junk and Disorderly

I love going to Junk and Disorderly. Every time I go there's a new treasure. These are the treasure that caught my eye last weekend...

Flower Crown Tutorial

Ohai there! I've been busy with school recently, trying to make up for the fact that I totally skipped Level 2, but over the weekend I got all crafty and made myself a crown of flowers, well 2 of them actually (the other 2 pictured are the ones my friend made). The purpose of said crowns was actually for me to wear to a toga party I attended, but I think I'm going to end up wearing these babies a bit.

See the instructions for making these after the jump...

Bunnies with bling and clouds

I bought this little bunny ring holder in New York (one of the ears broke off in transit but it has been glued back on and the crack hidden) and I am now obsessed. I keep putting it in different spots around my room and it looks good EVERYWHERE.
